Miss Thrifty1 December 22, 2015
This is an advertorial and I received a fee to create a craft idea for https://www.tescoliving.com/making-and-doing.
Hold onto your horses, the sewing machine is out:
Tesco Living challenged me to create a twist on a craft idea: upcycling an old jumper into a gift bag. While I don’t have many old jumpers kicking around the place – I wear them and love them until they fall off and crumple into a pile of woolly dust – we have a surfeit of long-sleeved T-shirts belonging to my husband.
Even if you are a reluctant seamster or seamstress, you can turn a T-shirt sleeve into a small gift bag in less than 10 minutes. And if you are wrapping homemade gifts such as jams, preserves or other sweet treats in jars, a sleeve-sized gift bag is a perfect fit.
As part of my challenge, I also added my recipient’s name to the finished gift bag – in letters cut from felt, rather than a gift tag.
You can find more information, along with images of my finished gift bag, on the Tesco Living website.
