If you live in or around London, IKEA stores have an offer that may appeal.
From now until 18th December 2011, you can take five second-hand books into your nearest IKEA – and receive a £5 IKEA voucher in return. Apparently the Croydon IKEA will only accept children’s books, but the other IKEAs aren’t so fussy and will accept any and all second-hand books you have. It’s one voucher per household, according to the Ts and Cs.
The books will be donated to Save The Children charity shops, so if you are prepared to wade through those godawful IKEA crowds to claim your voucher, you will also be helping to raise money for a good cause.
Participating IKEA stores: Wembley, Lakeside,Tottenham and Croydon.

Not in my local store (Leeds) either :(. But I have seen this deal elsewhere before – I think it moves around the country!

I’ve just dropped off my 5 (childrens) books at the Croydon branch. It was pretty straightforward with just a form to fill in at the customer services as you go through the main entrance. I went very early though!
