I’m back – and ready to unbox.
In truth, this feels like waking up after a lengthy sleep, Snow White-style. I am so happy to be here.
A lot has changed. For example, I no longer spend £600 a month on a six-hour round trip to work (ugh).
I have moved to a different part of the country, to a town south of Manchester. It is on the edge of the Peak District and, when the weather picks up like it did the other week, it gets pretty here.
I have a new Thrifty Baby: another little boy.
You will be pleased, if unsurprised, to learn that at six weeks old, he is already a super-frugaller. Pillowcases in place of crib sheets, reusing the reusable nappies from last time around… you name it.
Yes: while I’m in a different place (in more than one sense of the word) and I’ll be posting more about this down the line, some things remain the same. Chief amongst them? Finding new ways to save money, left, right and centre. Statutory maternity pay is wonderfully motivating. 😉
From testing the newest money-saving websites and apps, to trying out old-fashioned ways of saving money around the house, it turns out there is plenty to do. The bargain sections in my local supermarkets are taking a battering, my slow cooker is bubbling away, I’m scoring some great fashion finds and I’ve even rediscovered my sewing machine.
Stick around, won’t you? Padlock those purses. It’s time for some fun…

Can’t wait to read more about what you’ve been up to over the last few (or more) months.

@Amandah Thanks Amandah – big brother is loving his new role! He does tend to squeeze the bejesus out of the baby with over-enthusiastic cuddles, but we are working on that… 😉
