YES, I KNOW IT’S OCTOBER. But the Post Office has come up with a really good idea for the last Christmas posting dates that I want to share with you before I forget.
In fact, I am just the forgetful type at whom this particular idea is aimed. You know: the sort of person who thinks idly, “Gosh, time is getting on and I had better get my Christmas cards to the rellies in America sent out soon!” And then looks the dates up online… only to discover that the last date for posting Christmas cards to the USA whizzed by two weeks previously. Ring any (jingle) bells?
In short, if you send the Post Office your email address and mobile phone number, and fill out a form to let them know which posting dates you must not miss under any circumstances, they’ll drop you an email three days before each date passes, and send you a text message one day before each posting deadline.
And in case you are wondering: yes, this service includes the last Christmas posting dates for the UK too. So even if you are the most forgetful person on the planet, there really is no excuse this year.
Best of all? The Post Office service is FREE!
To view the full list of last Christmas posting dates and to sign up for the free Christmas posting date reminders, visit the Post Office website. The reminder service covers UK Inland Mail, UK Special Delivery, HM Forces Mail and International Airmail.

Thank you. Hopefully I get cards there in time this year and don’t have the last minute first class stamp spend after I miss the second class deadline!

I’m already starting to think of ordering the cards for Christmas, not quite at the “mailing” part yet, but it’s good to be ready.
These days you really have to plan ahead or the date will just creep up on you and it’s easy to miss!
