Miss Thrifty8 December 19, 2010
Miss Thrifty is part of an informal network of personal finance bloggers called Yakezie, which is dedicated to finding and sharing the best personal finance content on the web. This weekend it’s my turn to share a few of my favourite posts from a few of my favourite bloggers: ah decisions, decisions!
Craig at Money Help for Christians has written a great post titled Cosigning a Loan | A Chronicle of the Many Dangers. He begins as he means to go on:
If you are a mean, hard, and calloused individual, you need not read this post about cosigning a loan. However, if you have a tendency toward niceness and kindness flows within you, then you need to read this post line by line.
Mark at Buy Like Buffett has come up with 5 Ways to Save Money Christmas Shopping This Year. I’m not 100% convinced that the eponymous Mr Buffett will be printing off his store coupons, as is recommended here, but there are some sound ideas and anyway, I’m biased because Buy Like Buffett has the same blog theme as yours truly (not for long though).
Darwin’s Money has taken a close look at the Energy Tax Credit 2011 – Not What it Used to Be, apparently. Sustainable Personal Finance has riffed on Giving to Charity | Sustainability for the Soul, looking at charitable tax deducations. (Two for American readers.)
BeatingTheIndex.com has come up with 3 Profitable Ways to Invest in the Market in 2011. (One for Canadian readers – see, I don’t forget aboot you lot.)
Joe Plemon at Personal Finance by the Book has come up with a lovely post called Financial – and Life – Lessons From 40 Years of Marriage. His children and grandchildren came up with readings to mark the special occasion, and Joe has applied these to financial lessons.
Craig at Free From Broke has been waxing lyrical about Companies That GET Customer Service. “I’m much more willing to forgive a mistake when the company makes good for it“, he notes.
Barb at BarbaraFriedbergPersonalFinance has posted on RESILIENCE & WEALTH; inspired by Sean P. Diddy Combs. Personal finance through a hip-hop lens – I like it!
Jacob at My Personal Finance Journey has written a useful, straightforward guide called What are Balance Transfers & How do they Work?
Last but not least, Bucksome Boomer has listed her 5 Must-Have Hotel Amenities. I’d go with three of the five – Bucksome, you’re far more fussy than I am!

Congratulation on being asked to share information on Yakezie. I am sure that your contribution will only enhance the readers experience!
I have to say that it can sometime be difficult for people to get good solid information on personal finance.
